Cheese Making
One day introduction to home dairying & cheese making
(This course is demonstrated with cows milk)
This is not so much a course as a one-day demonstration and tasting experience.
Our day will begin with a demonstration of hand milking (You will be given the opportunity to have a go.)
Then the cheese making will begin for you to watch firsthand stage by stage, following the first stage.
A demonstration of separating cream from milk (You will be given the opportunity to have a go.)
Followed by Butter making and then breakfast where you will taste the butter you just watched made.
After breakfast we will return to the dairy and continue with the next cheese making stage.
Lunch will be an opportunity to taste some of our organic produce including of course cheese.
Returning to the dairy for another stage in the cheese making process.
Then afternoon cream teas and opportunity to taste the cream separated earlier.
Followed by the final stage of cheese making, before departing for home.
Day's start at 9:00am and finish around 4:30pm
The opportunity for a farm tour is available
if you wish to accompany us for evening feeding.
The Price for this course is 90€ per person
Including refreshments and Lunch
Local accommodation can be arranged if desired.
Due to customer request we have decided to organise
each course on demand subject to cows being in milk.
Clay Oven Building
3 Day hands on building Course
This course is for anyone interested in natural traditional building methods,
and of course good wholesome food.
Over 3 days we will build a clay oven, traditionally used to bake bread.
This oven will be built Quebec style as an elongated dome, built from natural materials sourced on site.
Here at Le bois de Grammont it will be used to roast whole pigs, bread, and pizza.
All participants of the course will also be invited back for the
Le bois de Grammont Food Festival to be held a month after the course,
to sample a hog roast and fresh baked bread and pizza.
Day's start at 9:00am and finish around 4:30pm
The Price for this course is 150€ per person
Including refreshments and Lunch each day.
Local accommodation can be arranged if desired
This course was canceled due to inclement weather and will
be re organised when our weather patern returns to nomal.
Sausage Making
One day sausage making course
This course is for anyone interested in good wholesome food,
Made with natural ingredients by hand.
This is a hands on course you will be making sausage yourself, not just watching.
During the day we will make no less than 3 different recipes of sausage.
The pork used will be from our own Le Bois de Grammont pigs
Part of the process is to taste each batch before committing it to casings.
Lunch of course will be sausage and mash.
Each participant will go home with 1KG of sausage made on the day.
Day's start at 9:00am and finish around 4:30pm
The opportunity for a farm tour is available if you wish to accompany us for evening feeding.
The Price for this course is 90€ per person
Including refreshments lunch and 1KG of sausage
Local accommodation can be arranged if desired
Due to customer request we have decided to organise

own Farm produced pork.
